Come & Try Clay Target Shooting

Ever wanted to experience the thrill of clay target shooting?
Whether you’re a complete beginner or already licensed, our Come & Try Days are the perfect way to give it a go in a safe, welcoming environment.

Come & Try Days are held on the 3rd Saturday of every month at the Toowoomba Clay Target Club, located at:
10648 Warrego Highway, Charlton QLD

💥 How It Works

These sessions are run entirely by passionate club volunteers who generously donate their time to help you enjoy and learn the sport.

When you arrive:

• Check in at the Office and introduce yourself to our friendly staff

• Bring photo ID – a driver licence or weapons licence is ideal

  • Under 18? A student card or Medicare card is acceptable

• Sign the Range Register:

  • Licensed shooters: sign the Range Register

  • Unlicensed shooters: sign the Range Register AND complete the Unlicensed Shooter Declaration form

We no longer accept payment at the office.

🛡️ Safety First

Safety is our top priority. All participants will be:

• Guided through safe gun handling

• Coached on basic shooting technique

• Supplied with a shotgun suitable for their build and discipline

Please watch our mandatory Safety Video before attending. The video is also available at the bottom of this page.

You’ll be taken to a shooting layout and guided through the experience — please be patient if an instructor is working with several new shooters at once.

• Enclosed footwear (no sandals or heels)

• Photo ID

• A parent or guardian if you’re under 18

• A sense of fun — we’ll take care of the rest!

👥 Who Can Participate?

• Anyone aged 11 and up

• No firearms licence required

• First-timers and returning shooters welcome!
